Registration ID card requirements? Required for all Second Division vehicles. Vehicles except from safety inspection requirements? Gross weight of 8,000lb or less, farm machinery, vehicles owned and operated by the City of Chicago, vehicles owned and operated by the Federal Government, trailers weighing 5,000lb or less, recreational vehicles, out of state vehicles, specialized vehicles designated by statute. Does not include any M or L class vehicles.
Class A Any motor vehicle with a GCWR of more than 26,001lb or any vehicle towing another over 10,000lb. Does not include any M, L, or A class vehicles. Class B Any motor vehicle with a GCWR of more than 26,001lb or any vehicle towing another under 10,000lb.
